Young Dolphins trio secure Top 30 futures

The Dolphins have locked in emerging talents Lewis Symonds, Zac Garton and Kilarney Lavender with all earning promotion into the club’s Top 30 squad from 2027.

Symonds and Garton have extended their time at the Dolphins through to the end of 2028, while Lavender has committed his long-term future to the club through to the end of 2030.

The three young players will make the step up from the Dolphins’ pathways into the Top 30 next season, continuing their progression through the club’s system.

Symonds has enjoyed a standout 2026 season, captaining the Dolphins’ NRLQ Under 21 side while also gaining valuable experience with the Central Queensland Capras.

His development was rewarded with an NRL call-up against the Warriors, marking a significant milestone in his rise through the Dolphins system.

Garton will also make the move into the Top 30 after spending 2026 on the Development List.

The young forward has continued to develop across the Dolphins pathways and will now have the opportunity to push towards his NRL debut as part of the club’s full-time squad.

Lavender has secured the longest deal of the trio, committing to the Dolphins through to the end of the 2030 season.

A standout for the Dolphins’ NRLQ Under 21 side, Lavender’s versatility has been a major asset throughout the season, stepping into a number of positions when called upon.

His performances have established him as an exciting prospect within the Dolphins pathways, with the four-year Top 30 deal giving him the opportunity to continue his development within the NRL squad.

The three extensions further strengthen the Dolphins’ commitment to developing young talent and creating pathways into the NRL squad.
