Hammer Time to Continue Until 2029

From the Dolphins' first-ever moment of magic to their maiden Finals appearance, Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow has been there for some of the club's biggest occasions. Now, the Hammer is here to stay.

The Dolphins have secured the future of one of the NRL's most exciting fullbacks, with Tabuai-Fidow signing a contract extension that will keep him at the club until at least the end of 2029.

A member of the Dolphins' inaugural NRL squad, the 25-year-old made history in 2023 when he crossed for the club's first-ever NRL try.

Four seasons later, Tabuai-Fidow was again on the scoresheet as the Dolphins claimed their first Finals victory against the Warriors in Auckland, helping the club progress to its maiden Preliminary Final.

Since joining the Dolphins from the North Queensland Cowboys in 2023, Tabuai-Fidow has scored 66 tries in 78 appearances, establishing himself as one of the competition's most dangerous attacking players.

The fullback has made 128 NRL appearances and scored 87 tries since making his first-grade debut for the Cowboys in 2020.

His performances have also earned him 13 State of Origin appearances for Queensland, while he is currently representing Samoa at the 2026 Rugby League World Cup.

Dolphins CEO Terry Reader said retaining Tabuai-Fidow was an important part of the club's future.

“Hamiso has been part of some of the biggest moments in our club's short history, from scoring our first-ever NRL try to helping us reach our first Finals Series,” Reader said.

“He is a player who can change a game in an instant, and his record of 66 tries in Dolphins colours speaks for itself.

“Hammer’s re-signing shows the environment we have built at the Dolphins is something that players value, as is being a part of a squad that will continue to challenge every season.

“Hamiso has been with us from the beginning, and we're excited to have him continue that journey with the Dolphins over the next few years.”
