Dolphins NRLQ go back-to-back

The Dolphins have secured back-to-back wins in the NRLQ Series, grinding out a hard-fought 16-13 victory over the Gold Coast Titans at Premier’s Park in a tense, finals-like contest.

Returning home after last week’s narrow win in Cairns, the Dolphins showed resilience and composure to edge a Titans side that refused to go away, with a late try sealing the result.

Fast Start Sets the Tone

From the opening exchanges, the Dolphins brought energy and intent, striking early through Brooklyn Sabine in the 3rd minute, before Kilarney Lavender crossed just three minutes later to give the home side a perfect start.

With Callum Bowles converting both tries, the Dolphins raced to a 12–0 lead inside the first 10 minutes, capitalising on field position and attacking precision.

Titans Fight Back

The Titans responded midway through the half, with Will Shears (29th minute) finishing a shift to get the visitors on the board.

A penalty goal soon after reduced the margin further, before Braiden Driscoll crossed in the 36th minute, levelling the contest following the conversion.

A late field goal from Jhett Sydir (39th minute) gave the Titans a slender 13-12 halftime lead, turning the momentum heading into the sheds.

Sabine Seals It

The second half developed into a tight defensive battle, with both sides trading territory but unable to break through for long periods.

With the match hanging in the balance, the Dolphins delivered when it mattered most. Brooklyn Sabine struck again in the 60th minute, completing his double and reclaiming the lead for the home side.

Despite late pressure from the Titans, the Dolphins’ defence held firm in the closing stages to seal the narrow three-point victory.

The Dolphins will now prepare to face the Broncos on Saturday at Wynnum.
