From Queensland Cup premiership glory to a record-breaking State Championship victory, 2026 was a standout year for the Dolphins’ feeder clubs.
With strong performances across the Redcliffe Dolphins, Central Queensland Capras and Norths Devils, the season showcased the depth of talent developing throughout the Dolphins’ pathways system.
Redcliffe Dolphins Claim Historic Double
The Redcliffe Dolphins capped off a remarkable 2026 campaign, claiming both the Queensland Cup premiership and NRL State Championship.
Under Head Coach Dave Elliott, Redcliffe secured the Queensland Cup title with a 28-18 victory over the Sunshine Coast Falcons at Kayo Stadium, earning a place in the NRL State Championship against the Penrith Panthers.
With a host of NRL-experienced players in the side, including Jake Averillo, Felise Kaufusi, Tevita Naufahu and Brian Pouniu, Redcliffe delivered a dominant 68-14 victory at Accor Stadium.
Averillo led the charge with a hat-trick as the Dolphins crossed for 12 tries in a record-breaking performance.
Redcliffe’s 68 points marked the highest score in NRL State Championship history, while the 54-point winning margin was also the biggest in the competition’s history.
Capras Make Their Mark
The Central Queensland Capras also enjoyed a strong 2026 campaign, advancing to the Queensland Cup Preliminary Final before falling short against the Sunshine Coast Falcons.
Dolphins youngsters Lewis Symonds and John Fineanganofo were among those to feature for the Capras throughout the season, gaining valuable experience at Queensland Cup level.
Norths Devils
The Norths Devils rounded out the Dolphins’ Queensland Cup feeder club network, finishing the 2026 season in 13th position.
Despite missing finals football, the Devils continued to provide opportunities for players to gain valuable senior experience and develop their game.
