Phinny named by the fans

The fans have spoken and the Dolphins’ NRL mascot now has a name.

Meet ‘Phinny’, the mascot that will lead the Dolphins NRL team onto the ground at Suncorp Stadium when the club makes its debut in the NRL next year.

Phinny made his debut to the world on Channel Seven’s Sunrise program last month.

It was there that the name Phinny was first floated by a group of Redcliffe Dolphins’ junior players, who were canvassed for their ideas on what to call him.

A process was run allowing people to suggest vote names they liked for the mascot, and the overwhelming majority voted for Phinny.

So welcome to the Dolphins’ family Phinny – we can’t wait to see you run out onto the field with our team.
