Powerhouse Kuli locked in for Dolphins

The Dolphins have secured another key piece of their forwards roster with Kulikefu Finefeuiaki signing a two-year contract extension.

Currently preparing for the Dolphins’ first NRL Preliminary Final, the newly-minted Queensland State of Origin back rower is secured on the Dolphins’ team until at least the end of the 2029 season.

Since joining the club from the Cowboys in 2025, Finefeuiaki has established himself as a powerful presence in the pack, bringing strong carries, physicality and energy to the Dolphins’ charge up the ladder.

The 22-year-old has continued to build on that form throughout the 2026 season, with his performances earning him his maiden Maroons’ jersey.

Originally contracted with the Dolphins until the end of 2027, Finefeuiaki’s development into a true NRL force has earned him this two-year extension.

“What I think has been most impressive about Kuli’s rise in our squad has been his transformation as a player,” said Dolphins’ chief executive Terry Reader.

“His work to turn himself into an 80-minute player on the edge who now plays State of Origin has been extremely impressive.

“We see Kuli as one of the cornerstones of our pack and are excited about what he can do for this club not only in this Finals Series, but over the next few years.”

Finefeuiaki began his NRL career with the North Queensland Cowboys with a 2023 debut, playing 37 games for North Queensland.

Now with 80 NRL games and two Tests for Tonga under his belt, the former Ipswich High School student will continue to build on his representative career with the Dolphins.
