Fan favourite Fuller extends for 2027

One of the Dolphins’ most electrifying attacking threats has committed to the club for another season, with Trai Fuller extending his contract through to the end of 2027.

Fuller has been part of the Dolphins since the club’s inaugural NRL campaign, joining on a full-time train-and-trial deal in 2023 before forcing his way into the NRL squad.

He made an immediate impression when he debuted in Round 25 of the 2023 season, announcing himself with a trademark individual try.

Since then, the 29-year-old has made 19 appearances in Dolphins colours, providing impact whenever called upon and cementing his reputation as one of the club’s most exciting attacking weapons.

Dolphins’ chief executive Terry Reader said Fuller was an important part of the Dolphins’ squad.

“There is no doubting that Trai is a real ‘fan favourite’ for the Dolphins,” he said.

“To have a player of his skill to call on underlines the great depth we have at the club – his value to us this week against the Roosters is a perfect case in point.

“We are very pleased Trai has committed to another season at the club as we see him as a valuable piece of our roster.”

Fuller’s form has also been recognised beyond club football. Earlier this year, he represented the Indigenous All Stars team, while his outstanding 2025 campaign earned selection in the Prime Minister’s XIII, where he crossed for four tries in a dominant victory over PNG.

Before earning his NRL opportunity, Fuller established himself as one of the Hostplus Cup’s premier players with the Redcliffe Dolphins.

His achievements at state level include claiming the prestigious Petero Civoniceva Medal in 2023 as the QRL’s Hostplus Cup Best and Fairest Player.

He was also awarded the Peter Leis Medal as Redcliffe Dolphins’ Player of the Year in both 2023 and 2024, highlighting his consistency and influence at club level.

Fuller’s leadership and character have been equally impressive, earning him the Tony Obst Award – as Players’ Player - for four consecutive seasons from 2020 to 2023, voted the best teammate by his peers.
