Three Dolphins will proudly represent their heritage on the international stage, with Isaiya Katoa, Felise Kaufusi, and Kulikefu Finefeuiaki named in the Tonga XIII squad for the upcoming Pacific Championships, beginning on October 18.
The tournament will see some of the world’s best rugby league talent come together, with Tonga once again coached by Dolphins head mentor Kristian Woolf.
Katoa has continued to build his reputation as one of the NRL’s brightest young playmakers. Already with international caps to his name, the 21-year-old will be looking to steer Tonga’s attack and gain further experience at the highest level.
Veteran forward Kaufusi brings a wealth of leadership and big-game know-how. A seasoned international with State of Origin and premiership experience, Kaufusi’s inclusion provides Tonga with both toughness and composure in the middle of the field.
Back-rower Finefeuiaki has been rewarded for his impressive development since joining the Dolphins. The call-up reflects his growing impact in the NRL and signals the exciting future ahead for the 21-year-old.
The selection of three Dolphins is another sign of the club’s increasing influence in international rugby league. With Woolf at the helm and a strong core of Dolphins talent in the squad, Tonga will be a team to watch when the Pacific Championships kick off.
