Women in League Round for 2025 kicked off with the Parramatta Eels hosting the Dolphins in a crucial game for both sides and it was Kristian Woolf's men getting the money in a tight tussle.
The Eels have looked a vastly improved side since chief playmaker Mitch Moses returned in Round 7 but they remain last on the ladder with a 2-7 record and will rue a number of missed opportunities.
The Dolphins won just two of eight outside Queensland in 2024 and were 0-3 this season away from the Sunshine State before digging deep to come back from 12-6 down with 20 minutes to play to win at CommBank Stadium tonight.
The Dolphins head back to Suncorp Stadium in Round 11 to host the Warriors while Jason Ryles' men need to regroup when they travel to Newcastle to face the Knights.

Issy any good? Issy what! Dolphins playmaker Isaiya Katoa played with the poise and maturity of a man 10 years his senior. The 21-year-old came up with 568 kick metres, 30 tackles and 104 run metres as he controlled the game magnificently to take a point decision over Mitch Moses in the battle of the No.7s.
From the field: Herbie Farnworth
Full-time: The Dolphins hold off the fast-finishing Eels to register their fourth win of the season. The Dolphins completed 35 of 39 sets and controlled the game through Isaiya Katoa's kicking game and their committed defence. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow came up with 219 run metres and seven tackle breaks while Herbie Farnworth ran for 195 metres. Josh Addo-Carr wound back the clock with 20 runs for 207 metres and nine tackle breaks.
The Hammer saves the day
80 min: The Eels launch one last glory raid with Josh Addo-Carr away down the left and finding Dylan Brown in support but Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow comes up with a trysaver and forces the ball loose in the tackle. Dolphins 20-16.
78 min: A dropped ball by Dylan Walker robs the Eels of one of their last chances of the night.
Huge try saver from Farnworth
76 min: The Eels make the ball sing and it ends up with Will Penisini who is dragged down just short of the line by Herbie Farnworth.
Dylan Brown Try
74 min: The Eels strike back when Kitione Kautoga produces a brilliant offload to put Isaiah Iongi into space and the fullback finds Dylan Brown in support. The five-eighth streaks away to score. Sean Russell misses the relatively easy conversion. Dolphins 20-16.
70 min: Matt Doorey is penalised and placed on report for a crusher tackle on Herbie Farnworth. The penalty shot is slotted by Jamayne Isaako to make it 20-12 to the Dolphins.
69 min: A chance down the left for the Eels through Josh Addo-Carr but desperation defence by Jake Averillo and Isaiya Katoa forces an error from 'The Foxx'.
Herbie Farnworth Try
65 min: A touch of magic from Herbie Farnworth as he leaves Ryley Smith and Mitch Moses in his wake and swerves past Isaiah Iongi to give the Dolphins the lead with a slashing 60-metre try. Jamayne Isaako converts. Dolphins 18-12.
63 min: Bailey Simonsson limps off with a foot injury after a strong game for the Eels with 16 runs for 139 metres and a try.
Connelly Lemuelu Try
61 min: Kodi Nikorima bamboozles the defence from close range when he dummies to kick before picking up Connelly Lemuelu who crashes over. Jamayne Isaako converts from close range. 12-12.
58 min: A short dropout comes up trumps for the Dolphins after Will Penisini comes up with a knock on when the ball was there to be picked up after the ball crossed the 10-metre line.
56 min: On the back of a six-again call and a penalty the Dolphins get two sets inside the Red Zone but their attack lacks potency and an intercept by Jordan Samrani gets the Eels out of trouble.
53 min: The Dolphins build pressure on the back of strong defence and get a chance off an Isaiya Katoa high ball but the chasers can't control the ball and a knock on is ruled.
45 min: A high tackle penalty against Mark Nicholls makes the penalty count 8-1 and invites the Eels into the Red Zone again but a poor kick by Ryley Smith brings the set to a meek end.
Matt Doorey Try
43 min: Dylan Walker comes up with a peach of a pass to put Matt Doorey over for a try under the posts to give the Eels their first lead of the night. Sean Russell converts. Eels 12-6.
Half-time: The Dolphins completed 17 of 18 sets at 94 per cent in a controlled performance while the Eels went 21 from 26 sets. Josh Addo-Carr racked up 114 run metres for the Eels while Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow had 125 run metres for the Dolphins. The Eels had the better of the penalty count 6-1 but came up with five more errors than the Dolphins.
40 min: A high tackle penalty against Kurt Donoghoe hands Sean Russell a shot from 48 metres out and he bangs it over to lock it up at 6-6.
37 min: Another high ball from Isaiya Katoa and another superb take by Isaiah Iongi as the sides continue to trade sets with very few errors.
33 min: The Eels lose their captain's challenge when Mitch Moses alleges he was blocked by Tom Gilbert when chasing a kick but the bunker rules the Dolphins forward did not change his line and Moses simply ran into him.
31 min: Another chance for the Eels but Jordan Samrani puts the ball down close to the line and the Dolphins come away with a solid set and kick on the last.
Bailey Simonsson Try
28 min: The Eels get on the board when Mitch Moses swings to the right and finds Isaiah Iongi who puts Bailey Simonsson over in the corner. Sean Russell misses the conversion. Dolphins 6-4.
26 min: An escort penalty against Jamayne Isaako for blocking Josh Addo-Carr on kick chase puts the Eels into the Red Zone and Mitch Moses earns a line dropout with a pinpoint high kick.
Iongi couldn't hang on for the try
21 min: Isaiah Iongi bombs a certain try for the Eels when he drops the ball two metres out from the line after great lead-up work by Josh Addo-Carr, Mitch Moses and Dylan Brown. Dolphins 6-0.
18 min: Ryley Smith earns the Eels a line dropout with a clever grubber on the last tackle. Jamayne Isaako goes long with the dropout and the Eels start their set from their own side of halfway before coming up with a sloppy pass to hand over possession.
Jack Bostock Try
12 min: On the back of a high tackle penalty against Jordan Samrani, the Dolphins go down field and Isaiya Katoa orchestrates a try for Jack Bostock with superb ball-playing skills. Jamayne Isaako converts from wide out. Dolphins 6-0.
9 min: Eels centre Will Penisini leaves the field for a HIA which he passes.
5 min: The Eels sweep left with their first real chance but Dylan Brown comes up with a forward pass and the opportunity is lost.
2 min: An early test for Isaiah Iongi with Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow pouring through on kick chase but the Eels No.1 comes up with a great take.
Late Mail
The Eels are 1-17 with no late changes. Hooker Brendan Hands hasn't played since Round 2 due to a knee injury and will return through NSW Cup on Sunday.
A couple of late changes for the Dolphins with Ray Stone coming into the starting side in the second row and Harrison Graham joining the bench in jersey No.18. Stone's promotion sees Connelly Lemuelu move to the bench. Sean O'Sullivan has dropped to 18th man.
