Dolphins to contest Kaufusi charge

The Dolphins will contest the grading of Felise Kaufusi’s dangerous contact charge at the NRL judiciary.

Kaufusi was charged with grade two dangerous contact out of a tackle on Newcastle’s Jackson Hastings in the 36-20 win over the Knights.

However the Dolphins will aim to have the grading lowered to allow Kaufusi to play in Friday’s Battle of Brisbane blockbuster against the Broncos.

A downgrade would leave Kaufusi with a fine only, while if the challenge is unsuccessful, his suspension will rise from three to four weeks.

Kaufusi sent to the bin

Kaufusi has been handed a grade two dangerous contact charge for a 70th minute tackle on Jackson Hastings that also earned him 10 minutes in the sin bin.
