Phinny’s Classmates brings PHINS Five values to Clontarf Beach State School

The Dolphins have continued to strengthen their connection with local schools through the Phinny’s Classmates program, visiting Clontarf Beach State School to share the importance of positive behaviours both on and off the field.

Phinny’s Classmates is a Dolphins community initiative designed to connect with school-aged children across the Brisbane region, with Dolphins players and staff visiting schools to encourage positive behaviours and help create thriving school environments.

At the heart of the program is the PHINS Five, five key values that reflect the Dolphins’ commitment to excellence, respect and community:

Positivity – Encourage your teammates
Heart – Do everything to the best of your ability
Integrity – Do the right thing even when nobody is watching
Never-give-up – Keep going when things get tough
Sportsmanship – Show up for your mates

During the visit to Clontarf Beach State School, Dolphins staff delivered an interactive presentation to 75 Year 6 students, taking them through each of the PHINS Five values and how they can apply them at school, in sport and in everyday life.

Dolphins players Jamayne Isaako, Noah Fien and Jack Finnigan joined the session, sharing their own experiences and explaining how the values play an important role in their training, teamwork and preparation.

Following the presentation, students headed to the school oval, where they rotated through a series of rugby league activities facilitated by Dolphins staff.

Isaako, Fien and Finnigan joined students throughout the activities, sharing their skills, offering encouragement and getting involved alongside the Year 6 students.

The visit gave students the opportunity to learn from Dolphins players while reinforcing how positivity, heart, integrity, never giving up and sportsmanship can help them both on and off the field.

Through Phinny’s Classmates, the Dolphins continue to use rugby league to connect with young people and encourage the next generation to live the PHINS Five values in their schools and communities.
