Iona College has secured its place in the 2026 Dolphins Cup semi-finals after defeating St Laurence’s College 22-18 in Saturday’s Confraternity Carnival play-off.
The play-off featured the top two AIC South East Queensland schools from the recent 2026 Confraternity Carnival, with the winner earning a place in the Dolphins Cup finals series.
Iona will now take on the second-placed team from the Dolphins Cup regular season on Tuesday, 11 August at Kayo Stadium. Their opponent will be confirmed following the completion of Round 5 of the Dolphins Cup competition.

Following the Grand Final, the 2026 Dolphins Cup champions will take on the Aaron Payne Cup champions to determine the overall schools champion.
The 2026 Dolphins Challenge and Dolphins Schoolgirls Cup Grand Finals will also be played on Tuesday, 18 August at Brown Park, Rockhampton, showcasing the best school rugby league talent from across the Dolphins catchment.
