NRLQ 21s Match Report: Dolphins fall to Titans in Round 8

The Dolphins NRLQ 21s have gone down 38-16 to the Titans in Round 8 at Cbus Super Stadium.

The Titans made a blistering start, crossing in just the second minute before adding further tries to establish a commanding lead. Despite the early pressure, the Dolphins continued to battle hard but found themselves on the back foot as the home side controlled field position and capitalised on their opportunities.

The Dolphins hit back in the 22nd minute through Mereki Warradoo, who crossed in the right corner after sustained attacking pressure to open the visitors’ account. However, the Titans responded before halftime with another four-pointer to take a 32-4 advantage into the break.

The Dolphins showed greater intent after halftime and were rewarded shortly after the restart. Centre Brooklyn Sabine produced a brilliant intercept on the line before racing almost the length of the field and finding winger Kurt Jones in support, who crossed in the 44th minute.

The visitors continued to build momentum six minutes later when Charlie Dickson charged into the Titans’ defensive line before producing a well-timed offload for Amare Wynyard, who crashed over to reduce the margin and cap off the Dolphins’ best passage of the match.

Despite the improved second-half performance, the Titans regained control in the closing stages, adding a late try to seal a 38-16 victory.

The Dolphins will now turn their attention to Round 9, where they will take on the Broncos at Kayo Stadium on Saturday, July 18, with kick-off scheduled for 2:00pm.
