There were plenty of tries, loud cheers and even a road trip from Bundaberg as the second annual Dolphins x Titans Leagueability Gala Day returned bigger and better than ever on Tuesday, 12 May.
What began as a six-team event in its first year has quickly grown into an eight-team celebration of inclusivity, connection and rugby league, with more than 120 participants taking part in this year’s gala day.
And it wasn’t just local teams getting involved. Leagueability Bundaberg made the journey to be part of the special day, joining Titans Blue, Titans White, Titans Gold, Active Heroes, LST Support Services, WB Supports and Connect Rugby League for a full day of footy, fun and friendship.
From the first whistle, the energy was impossible to miss. Sidelines were filled with encouragement, teammates celebrated every moment together and new friendships were formed between games. While the scores mattered out on the field, the real win came from seeing participants step outside their comfort zone, meet new people and simply enjoy the game.
The gala day is designed to create opportunities for all-abilities rugby league players to connect through sport, whether it’s playing against someone new, learning new skills or just having a laugh with teammates.
The continued growth of the event shows the rising passion for inclusive rugby league and the positive impact these opportunities are having within the community.
The Dolphins are proud to once again partner with the Titans for the gala day and play a small part in helping create a space where everyone feels welcome, included and part of the rugby league family.
