Hammer eager to embark on Darwin expedition

Dolphins star fullback Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow is keen to lay the hammer down this Friday night, as the Dolphins prepare to take on the ladder-leading Panthers in Darwin.

Darwin has been a happy hunting ground for the Dolphins in the past, having won their only previous game at TIO Stadium against the Eels in 2024.

Tabuai-Fidow was an unfortunate admission for this game through injury, and is keen to make up for the missed opportunity.

“I’m excited to play in Darwin, I didn’t get to play the last time we were there, but I know it’s a wonderful stadium to play at."

The heat and humidity is expected to play a huge part in the game, with temperatures expected to hit as high as 32 degrees on Friday, but Tabuai-Fidow believes this could become a huge advantage for his team.

“The heat is a big factor, with it being so hot up there.

“With the heat we’ve head in Brisbane, we will be used to that and be ready to go,” Tabuai-Fidow said.

As part of the trip to the Top End, the Dolphins will also be hosting multiple community events, including giving the fan’s the opportunity to attend their captain’s run on the eve of the match for free.

Spots to attend the training session held at TIO Stadium at 8:30am on Thursday morning are limited, but tickets can still be secured via Ticketek.

“Us as a club, we want to get around the community and get people together, and the more we do that then the more fans we will have up there"

Tabuai-Fidow has also done his own personal marketing for the match, in the hope that the TIO Stadium crowd becomes a blanket of red and white.

“I’ve got some relatives up there, so I’ll catch up with them and tell them to bring some mates to experience a game of rugby league in the Territory.

“I’m excited to see a sea of red up there,” Tabuai-Fidow said.
