Dolphins five-eighth Kodi Nikorima insists his team is still building into the 2026 season, following last weekend’s impressive 38-10 victory over the Sharks in Cronulla.

The Dolphins have now recorded back to back victories, and much of the plaudits have been reserved for Nikorima and his young halves partner, Isaiya Katoa.

According to Nikorima, however, the team can still go to another level.

“We’ve still got a lot to learn, and a lot that we can grow on together.

“We will keep building, it is still early rounds but we will continue to grow,” Nikorima said.

Katoa starred in last week’s victory with two try assists, one of which was an incredible lofted cut-out ball that landed perfectly on the chest of winger Jamayne Isaako to score in the corner.

Nevertheless, veteran half Nikorima is for now keeping Katoa’s feet planted firmly on the ground.

“We spoke about the pass once, then we let it go and moved on to this weekend.”

Following last weekend’s impressive victory, the Dolphin’s attention now shiftsto this weekend’s Battle of Brisbane against the Broncos.

“They have got the wood on us and they are also the reigning champs, so we expect a big match.

“It is always a big game, and we’re excited and ready for this Friday night,” Nikorima said.
