MR Roads announces major sponsorship of Dolphins NRL

MR Roads has signed on as a Major Partner and the Official Road Construction Partner of the Dolphins, commencing in the 2026 NRL season.

The proudly Queensland-owned company, an accredited First Nations provider, will have its logo featured on the front of the Dolphins’ NRL playing shorts and the back of the team’s official training shorts. This prominent placement cements MR Roads’ position as one of Australia’s fastest-growing infrastructure businesses and reflects its ongoing rise as a national brand.

More than just a leading construction company, MR Roads is a proud Queensland business that is investing in the future of the community and the state through cutting-edge technology, sustainable initiatives and a strong focus on people. Its commitment to innovation and community-driven growth is what makes this partnership with the Dolphins such a natural fit.

Beyond the game, the partnership will drive community impact across Queensland. MR Roads will work alongside the Dolphins to support grassroots rugby league through the club’s Roadshow program, delivering junior clinics, fan activations and player appearances in regional communities. This builds on MR Roads’ strong track record of community initiatives, including its innovative Community Carpark Safety Program in the Moreton Bay region.

Dolphins Chief Executive Officer Terry Reader said the partnership was a celebration of shared values.

“We’re excited to have MR Roads join us as a Major Partner from 2026,” Reader said.

“Like the Dolphins, MR Roads has built a reputation for excellence, resilience and rapid growth. Their brand on our playing and training apparel represents more than sponsorship, it’s about celebrating Queensland ambition and community.”

Daniel Mikus and James Rolph, cofounders of MR Group and MR Roads, said that while the partnership with the Dolphins was about a shared love of sport, it was also about inspiring communities.

“Our story began with a simple vision: to create opportunities, transform communities and leave a legacy for future generations,” Mr Mikus said.

“From humble beginnings, MR Roads has become a proudly certified Indigenous business and a multi-award-winning leader in road construction. Partnering with the Dolphins is a defining moment for us and together we’ll inspire resilience, pride and ambition in Queensland communities through team sport.

James Rolph added: “We’ve always said that building roads is about more than asphalt and machinery, it’s about building pathways for people to thrive.

“The Dolphins share that same spirit of ambition and purpose. This partnership brings two Queensland success stories together, united by hard work and belief in what’s possible. We’re proud to stand beside the Dolphins and can’t wait to see the impact we’ll achieve together over the coming years.”

Mikus added that the Dolphins is a mighty club that reflects the passion, personality, culture and energy of the region.  As a new NRL club, it is growing rapidly and already delivering incredible success and impact.

“Queenslanders love their sport and their community and so do we.  We are genuinely thrilled to be involved in the game of rugby league and key partners with the club as it grows and competes on a national level.  Exciting times ahead!”

2025 has been a landmark year for MR Roads. Alongside announcing its major sponsorship with the Dolphins, the company has also unveiled two game-changing investments that underscore its commitment to innovation and sustainability.

The first is the launch of MR Roads Tech, a cutting-edge AI platform designed to revolutionise how road and civil infrastructure projects are won, managed and delivered. This technology enhances efficiency, reduces risk and worker fatigue, improves safety and ensures projects are delivered to the highest quality standards. By harnessing real-time data and insights, MR Roads Tech is setting a new benchmark for productivity and performance across the construction industry.

At the same time, MR Roads has invested $20 million in a state-of-the-art sustainable asphalt plant in Maryborough. The facility, the best of its kind in Australia, uses recycled bitumen to manufacture road surfaces, significantly reducing waste and environmental impact while delivering world-class outcomes. This investment galvanises MR Roads’ position as a national leader in sustainable infrastructure and highlights its dedication to building not just roads, but a cleaner, greener future for Queensland and beyond.
