It was a night of celebration at the Dolphins’ 2025 Presentation Ball as Herbie Farnworth capped off a standout season by claiming the prestigious Arthur Beetson Medal as the Player of the Year.
The centre was a force all year, providing leadership and class in the backline, crossing for 12 tries in 19 appearances. The award recognises his influence in guiding the club through a rollercoaster season. Farnworth also claimed the Wahl Fan MVP, showing just how highly regarded by both supporters and teammates alike.
It was a night to remember for young gun Isaiya Katoa, who walked away with two major honours. Katoa was named the Best Back, and his peers named him the recipient of the Jesse Bromwich Award for Players’ Player. The 21-year-old also made history in Round 16 when he became the youngest captain in NRL history, another milestone in a year where his development hit new heights. Katoa’s playmaking brilliance was on display across the season, finishing with 23 try assists in 24 appearances.
The forward pack was headlined by Kurt Donoghoe, who capped off a breakout year by winning both Best Forward and Most Consistent award. Donoghoe’s relentless effort in the middle third made him a vital part of Kristian Woolf’s squad, with his teammates and coaching staff recognising his impact.
Promising winger Tevita Naufahu was rewarded with the Rookie of the Year honour after making his NRL debut in Round 19 and quickly established himself as one to watch for the future. In just seven games, the exciting prospect crossed for six tries, signalling a bright career ahead.
Off the field, Sean O’Sullivan was recognised for his commitment to study, claiming the Education Award while staff member Sam Tagataese was celebrated as Club Person of the Year for his tireless work behind the scenes.
The presentation Ball again highlighted the depth of talent and character at the Dolphins, with the night’s winners showcasing a mix of emerging stars, established leaders, and valued contributors both on and off the field.
