Felise Kaufusi has inked a new two-year contract with the Dolphins, a deal that keeps the international forward in red, white and gold until the end of the 2027 NRL season.
Kaufusi made history as the Dolphins’ first-ever signing back in 2022, joining ahead of the club’s inaugural NRL campaign and quickly establishing himself as a cornerstone of the pack.
The news comes as the Dolphins announced they had smashed through the 30,000-member mark for the third year in a row.
A proven leader both on and off the field, Kaufusi has assumed the co-captaincy of the Dolphins in the 2025 season and continues to set the standards for professionalism, toughness, and commitment.
Kaufusi re-signs with the Dolphins
Dolphins’ chief executive Terry Reader said the extension of Kaufusi’s tenure at the club would further strengthen the team’s roster.
"There is no doubt that the recruitment of Felise helped open the way for many more players to join the Dolphins," said Reader.
"His decision to join the Dolphins and the subsequent signing of his teammates Jesse and Kenny Bromwich from the Storm helped set and drive the standards of the club.
"Now to have him commit to another contract and continue to mentor the next generation of Dolphins’ forwards is another coup for the club.
"To announce his signing in the week we again pass 30,000 members - a milestone Felise himself has helped us reach - highlights the club’s rapid growth and strong connection with our fans and local community."
The extension ensures 33-year-old Kaufusi will continue to bring his trademark power in defence and impact in attack, while guiding the next generation of Dolphins’ forwards as the club pushes towards future finals campaigns.
Kaufusi will again co-captain the team with young half Isaiya Katoa against the Titans at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday, a match the team must win to stay in contention for an historic first NRL play-off berth.
