The Dolphins have landed a key play-making option with the signing of sharp-shooting halfback Brad Schneider on a one-year deal.
Currently playing for the Panthers, Schneider will join the Dolphins for pre-season in November after inking a deal for the 2026 NRL season.
With a composed style and elite kicking game, Schneider has been building his game for the NRL premiers behind champion halfback Nathan Cleary.
The 24-year-old made his NRL debut in 2021 with the Canberra Raiders and has since notched up 39 NRL appearances, including 12 games this season for the Panthers.
In 2023 Schneider broadened his experience with a successful stint at Hull Kingston Rovers in the English Super League, helping guide them from eighth place in 2022 to a semi-final appearance as well as a place in the Challenge Cup Final.
Dolphins’ chief executive Terry Reader said Schneider would add further depth to the club’s ranks.
“Brad is a great signing for us as someone who has the experience of being part of the Panthers’ 2024 Premiership as well as playing in a Challenge Cup Final in front of a packed Wembley Stadium,” said Reader.
“He gives us another great option in an important position as we continue to build our roster for the future.”
Originally from South Australia, Schneider is one of the few Adelaide-born players to have cracked the NRL.
The accomplished goal kicker spent his formative years in Townsville attending Kirwan State High, winning a national schoolboy final with Dolphins’ fullback Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow.
