Preseason 2025 is in full swing, with most Dolphins players returning to training in early November.
The first to hit the field were Dolphins Academy graduates and development players, many of whom are experiencing the intensity of an NRL preseason for the first time as they take the next step in their careers. Notably, this marks a milestone for the club, as Dolphins Academy players have officially joined the preseason program for the first time.
"The sessions have been very enthusiastic, with lots of intensity and energy, especially considering it's their first time handling a footy in months," said new Dolphins assistant coach Rory Kostjasyn.
Kostjasyn also praised the academy and development players for their excellent physical condition, focus, and low error rates during the early stages of training.

All three clubs made it to the 2024 Hostplus Cup finals series, showcasing their strength and depth, with the Norths Devils emerging victorious, defeating the Redcliffe Dolphins in the Grand Final. Notably, each team included Dolphins' NRL top 30 squad members and train-and-trial players throughout the 2024 season.

In weeks two and three of the preseason, the Dolphins welcomed back their top 30 squad, with the exception of players involved in recent international fixtures.
Reigning NRL Rookie of the Year, Jack Bostock remains focused on the team's goal: securing a spot in the 2025 finals. Bostock sees this preseason as a crucial step toward achieving that ambition.
"That's why everyone plays the game — everyone wants to be in the finals," Bostock said.
That will be a key talking point once the whole squad is back. We just need to start strong again and keep building. The last two years have seen a drop-off in form heading into the finals.

New signings Daniel Saifiti, Junior Tupou, and Max Feagai have already joined preseason training, while Kulikefu Finefeuiaki is set to link up with the group later this month. Their arrivals are expected to add depth and competition to the squad in 2025.
Additionally, 2024 development players Michael Waqa and James Walsh have been upgraded to the Dolphins' top 30 squad for 2025. Both players are participating in their second NRL preseason.
